Jointly initiated by Tai Jia Development and Mikobeauté International, the “Penghu Hometown Alliance” returned to Penghu from July 26 to 28, in collaboration with the Feng-Hsing Medical Service Team of Taipei Medical University.
The initiative also brought together partners including Long Shun Fishery Group and Wen Fa Fishery Group, with a total donation of NTD 3.2 million to support local free medical services, as well as ongoing healthcare and social service programs in Penghu.
Mr. Sam Lu, Chairman of Mikobeauté International, noted that ESG should not be limited to financial contributions or statements in reports. “We may not choose where we begin, but we can shape where we are going.”
Guided by a firm belief in the power of education to transform lives, Mr. Sam Lu and Mr. Jin-Fa Lu, Chairman of Tai Jia Development, initiated their efforts to give back to their hometown, Penghu.
This deep connection to their hometown has also resonated with Ms. Mei-Chen Lu, Vice Chairperson of Mikobeauté International, who is also originally from Penghu.
With over 20 years of presence in Taiwan, Mikobeauté International has grown into a beauty group with hundreds of employees. Starting from premium skincare for women, the brand has received numerous international awards and has been recognized with honors such as Outstanding Enterprise and Outstanding Leadership awards.
In recent years, Mikobeauté International has further expanded with a forward-looking strategy—integrating global research technologies with its deep expertise in skincare to enter the field of medical aesthetics, developing comprehensive skin and body solutions tailored to the needs of women in Taiwan and across Asia.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jin-Fa Lu, Chairman of Jia Development, has contributed through the Penghu Tai Jia Social Welfare Charity Foundation. Following the retirement of Mr. Kuo-Tsun Hsieh, former Director of the Penghu County Department of Education, he was invited to serve as the founding CEO, bringing decades of experience in local education planning. The current CEO, Ms. Yin-Ting Lin, continues these efforts by supporting underprivileged students in elementary and junior high schools through programs such as emergency assistance grants and educational support subsidies—providing timely and meaningful help.
Mr. Jin-Fa Lu remarked, “Where the heart feels at ease is home.” He hopes that children can pursue their education with peace of mind, grow stronger in the future, and one day give back to their hometown—creating a lasting cycle of kindness and support. Since 2024, the foundation has also increased its support by sponsoring scholarships for more than 80 recipients of the County Magistrate Award at graduation ceremonies each year, balancing both support for the underprivileged and recognition of outstanding students, while fostering meaningful and lasting connections within the community.
Over the past three years, Mikobeauté International and Tai Jia Development have together contributed more than eight-figure donations to Penghu. Through the “Penghu Hometown Alliance × Taipei Medical University Feng-Hsing Medical Service” initiative, they have further brought together collective support, with total donations reaching NTD 3.2 million. These contributions help sustain the long-term efforts of the Maple Apricot Medical Team in Penghu, ensuring the continued delivery of quality healthcare services and the promotion of medical knowledge, while also providing strong support for aspiring young talents.
